Kikundi at NNN2026 in Kigali!

Kikundi Program Managers participated in the 2026 NTD NGO Network Conference (NNN2026) in Kigali, joining members of the wider NTD community for three days of learning, exchange, and collaboration.

The NTD NGO Network (NNN) is a global forum that brings together NGOs and other partners working toward the control, elimination, and management of NTDs in line with the WHO NTD Road Map. Its annual conference provides a space for the NTD community to share learning, strengthen partnerships, and discuss approaches to advancing global and country-level NTD priorities.

For Kikundi members,NNN2026 offered an opportunity to bring country-level perspectives and experiences into broader conversations on the future of NTD programming in Africa, while also learning from peers and partners from across the NTD community.

As part of the conference, Kikundi hosted a workshop titled “Integrated Approaches to Skin NTDs and Fungal Diseases: Advancing Early Detection, Case Management, and Community Engagement in Africa.”

The session explored practical approaches to strengthening early detection, case management, referral systems, community engagement, and integrated service delivery for skin NTDs and fungal diseases. It also highlighted the importance of stronger primary health care systems and country-led collaboration.

The workshop featured Dr Piham Gnossike(Togo), Dr.Clarer Jones(Tanzania), Dr.Balla Jatta(Gambia), and Dr.Tesfahun Bishaw(Ethiopia), who shared country experiences and practical lessons from their respective NTD programs.

The discussions created an important space for Program Managers and partners to exchange ideas, identify common challenges, and reflect on approaches that could be adapted within national programs.

The participation at NNN2026 set the stage for continued learning and exchange during the 6th Kikundi Site Visit in Rwanda.
